Beirut
Beirut é o nome da banda de Zach Condon, nascido em Santa Fe, Novo México. O primeiro lançamento oficial com o nome de Beirut contou com a colaboração de Jeremy Barnes (Neutral Milk Hotel, A Hawk and a Hacksaw) e Heather Trost (A Hawk and a Hacksaw); ele combina elementos do Leste Europeu e do folk.
Quando mais novo, Zach Condon já havia lançado alguns álbuns. Ele gravou com o nome The Real People quando tinha 15 anos um albúm chamado The Joys of Losing Wight. Estudou na Santa Fe High School, onde estudou até deixar a escola com 16 anos para viajar pela Europa, onde foi exposto à música balcânica, incluindo Boban Marković Orchestra e Goran Bregović.
Em 2006, o Beirut lançou dois álbuns inspirados pelos Balcãs pela editora Ba Da Bing: Gulag Orkestar e Long Gisland.
Enquanto morava em Brooklyn, Zach Condon gravou também um video de "Scenic World" na fábrica da Sweet'N Low, e tocou em vários lugares em Nova Iorque e Europa.
O segundo álbum, The Flying Club Cup, saiu na internet em 25 de Agosto de 2007 e foi lançado em 9 de outubro de 2007.
